Synchronize X Pro 5.0.5 (#2): Continued issues, revert to version 5.0.4 to resolve

CNET staff

Users continue to report issues with Synchronize Pro -- a tool for synchronizing data between folders or volumes -- after updating to version 5.0.5. Particularly, users are experiencing unexpected quits or stalls of indefinite length during the synchronization process.

In most cases, the most viable solution to this issue is to merely download, install and use the old version of Synchronize X Pro, 5.0.4.

MacFixIt reader Guenther Fischer writes:

"I have seen problems with some synchronizing operations of Synchronize! Pro 5.05 on a G5. The program quits at the beginning of the sync process. I changed back to 5.04. That is the first time, I have problems with that program - it is simply great."

Forrest Tosie adds:

"I, too, did the upgrade (5.0.5 from 5.0.2). After the read/compare of the 2 drives, I've been looking at 'Preparing to copy...'for half an hour. I tried rebooting to no avail. I'm running a 2.16 Ghz MacBook Pro with 10.4.8 and backing up to a LaCie FW external drive."
