Surf Express 1.1.4a still not out; related issues

CNET staff
Last time, we noted that Surf Express 1.14a would be released to fix a problem with the just released 1.14. We expected the new update to be available by late Wednesday. Apparently, the fix is taking longer than expected. As noted on the Connectix web page, the original 1.1.4 has been pulled, and the new version is not yet posted. Expect it at any moment.

Control panel alias John Oswald had an alias to Surf Express in his Control Panels folder. The 1.14 Updater deleted it. John reports that this prevented Netscape from correctly locating Surf Express. Manually creating a new alias solved the problem.

Download problems More generally, I continue to have problems downloading any software updates from the Connectix web site. The download simply stalls after about 3 or 4 minutes. It does not matter what browser I use. Connectix claims that other users (although obviously not all) have also reported this problem; they are currently investigating it. Meanwhile, if you have this problem, simply download the software from the MRP mirror site.
