Scott McNealy tried to convince Hewlett-Packard's then-CEO Carly Fiorina to form a partnership against IBM, the Sun CEO said Monday at the Wall Street Journal's D: All Things Digital conference in Carlsbad, Calif. IBM's Global Services division is the biggest enemy of HP and Sun, McNealy argued, but Fiorina turned down his proposal.

McNealy, however, has not given up on the idea: "I am going to talk to Mark Hurd about partnering," he said in a question-and-answer session at the conference. "It's IBM Global Services vs. humankind."
