StuffIt Deluxe 5.0 SpaceSaver problems

SpaceSaver and AppleWorks Two reports (from Gary Brown and Edward Lovelace) described the exact same symptom: A 20083 (or similar number) error when trying to save a document in ClarisWorks/AppleWorks 5.0x - after installing StuffIt Deluxe 5.0. The SpaceSaver component appears to be the immediate culprit.

SpaceSaver and antivirus utilities Edward also notes that the StuffIt Deluxe 5.0 documentation describes a potential conflict between SpaceSaver and antivirus programs that examine files as they are being opened, copied or downloaded.
