Starting up from a Zip disk on a G3/BW

Bjorn Willemsen notes could not start up from a cartridge in an internal Zip drive installed in a new G3/BW. He spotted this in the G3/BW Read Me file: "You cannot start up your Power Macintosh G3/BW with a Zip cartridge that has been preformatted by Iomega with the driver version 6.0.1. To use the cartridge as a startup disk, reinitialize it using the Erase Disk command under the Special menu in the Finder." However, Mark Bernstein says he tried this tip and it did not work.
