Star Wars and Mario make the perfect combination in 'Star Kart!'

YouTube user Dark Pixel mashes up Star Wars with Nintendo's Mario Kart games in this fun fan-made video. Mario flies an X-Wing like a Rebel, and he doesn't have to rely on the Force, either.

Nothing beats an exciting space battle between X-Wings and TIE fighters, except when Mario and Bowser are in the cockpit.

While this game isn't actually a licensed product, YouTube user Dark Pixel made the trailer for this imaginary Mario Kart/Star Wars mashup game called Star Kart, so we all wish Nintendo and Disney would team up already and make this game a reality.

After all, who wouldn't want to spend the day racing X-Wings, TIE fighters, Slave I and other iconic Star Wars vehicles piloted by your favorite Mario characters?

One of the game levels looks a little like the podrace in "Star Wars: The Phantom Menace," but with a lot more Mario squeals. And of course, there's a Death Star trench run level, complete with a Millennium Falcon cameo. If you ever wanted to see Toad doing his best R2 impression or fireball proton torpedoes, this is your chance.

"Mario Kart and Star Wars just go together so perfectly now," Dark Pixel posted on YouTube. "We didn't even realize it before, but now we can't live without it. This game needs to be made! The world of Super Mario Brothers and the Force need to be combined!"

Watch the video below to decide for yourself if Mario Kart and Star Wars make the perfect combination.
