Actor Alden Ehrenreich stepped into the Star Wars spotlight earlier this month when Disney said he would take on the role of young Han Solo for an upcoming film focused on the early history of the captain of the Millennium Falcon. Conan O'Brien, host of the talk show "Conan," released a video this weekend showing a set of imaginary auditions for that youthful version of Han Solo.

The fake audition tape comes stocked with a who's-who of Hollywood luminaries, from Will Arnett ("I'm also Batman.") to Jodie Foster to Adam Sandler. Melissa McCarthy aims to spice up the humorous side of the role by saying, "Have you ever heard of the Millennium Falcon? It's the ship that made the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsnips." Admittedly, that makes about as much sense as the original "parsecs" claim.

The footage becomes a showcase for Bill Hader's ability to roll out Star Wars impressions, including Jabba the Hutt and a tauntaun. Each actor puts a personal spin on Han Solo, whether it's insisting on having a lightsaber or fumbling with his blaster pistol. If this really was Ehrenreich's competition, then he didn't have to work too hard to earn the role.
