SoundJam miscellany: Crescendo conflict?; using Green Witch Radio

CNET staff
Rafael Rivera reports that SoundJam MP 1.1 will freeze when stopping playback from a file in its playlist - if you use the Sonnet Crescendo 1.3.7 driver extension. Rafael is using a Sonnet NuBus G3 card for a Power Mac 6100. Casady & Greene have not been able to reproduce this as yet, but they are investigating it further.
Update: More reports: Kee Hinckley has the same symptom with his 6100 and Sonnet Crescendo 1.3.6. The problem did not occur with SoundJam 1.0. Jeff Hobbs similarly confirms this conflict. Jason Cox has a similar setup but has never had this problem.

Meanwhile, we have been playing with SoundJam and Green Witch Internet Radio. We think it's quite cool. Just download the playlist file of the channel of your choice and open it in SoundJam. You are now ready to enjoy a continuous stream of music (of course, having a cable modem or similar "permanent" connection to the Internet makes this more practical to do).

Update: As pointed out by Ronald Guest, if you select "Use SoundJam for Internet MP3" from SoundJam's Preferences window, most of the work is done for you automatically. That is, just select a channel from the web site and SoundJam will launch and start to play it.
