During a press conference in Japan, Sony has announced the release date and price of the Sony PlayStation 4 in Japan. It will start selling on February 22, and go for 39,980 yen (US$400), or 43,980 yen (US$441) with the camera accessory.

This is three months after the US release date of November 15, and November 29 for parts of Europe, including the UK. According to Sony, the February release date makes sure that there's time for US titles to be localized for the Japan market at launch, and dedicated Japanese titles, too.

There will also be a limited-edition bundle called the PlayStation 4 First Limited Pack that will go for the same price, but includes a new title called Knack. This edition is available only to customers in Japan, for those who preorder the console.
