Sony bringing YouTube to PlayStation 4
The gaming company gets serious about social by letting players upload and share video captures to their YouTube channels.
Sony announced Monday that it's boosting its social gaming by launching YouTube on its PlayStation 4 later this year.
During Sony's press conference at the E3 gaming conference in Los Angeles, the company's president and CEO of computer entertainment, Shawn Layden, told the crowd that Sony is continuing to "bring new tools" to the PlayStation 4. He said so far there have been 220 million share captures this year.
That metric "will climb even higher when we bring YouTube to PS4," Layden said. "With the simple press of the DualShock 4 share button, PS4 gamers will be able to quickly upload video captures to their YouTube channel."
