Sony announcing Vita news on March 9

The Japanese company plans to have a few Webcast words with gamers about some upcoming goodies for the PlayStation Vita.

This envelope is part of an invitation describing a special event coming for PlayStation Vita owners on March 9. Sony

Hungry for more PlayStation Vita news?

A Friday Webcast hosted by Sony and titled "PlayStation Vita Game Heaven" will reveal "unannounced Vita titles, upcoming releases, Vita services, as well as new information about in-release titles," notes Andriasang.com.

A teaser video clearly hints at developer interviews and behind-the-scenes footage, but English-only speakers may have a hard time following.

Those interested can tune in to the official event through Sony's Japanese PlayStation Web site at 3 a.m. PT March 9. A note on the site mentions that Sony will give away 20 3G/Wi-Fi Vitas if you tune in, but we assume this is a Japan-only promotion.

Coincidentally (or maybe not), the streaming event also falls around the same time as the Game Developers Conference expo and South by Southwest. We'll keep our ears on the ground and report back if anything juicy emerges.

We wouldn't mind a sample of Call of Duty for Vita (due this fall).
