Sonnet G3/300 card for the Power Mac 4400: replacement card will address incompatibility

Blaine Fergerstrom purchased a Sonnet G3/300 card for his Power Mac 4400 clone. He writes: "When the card arrived, there was no mention of 4400 on the box or in the instructions. And the card would not work in my APS M*Power 200 (4400 clone)."

Information on the Sonnet web site revealed that there was a separate and different part number for 4400-compatible models. When Blaine contacted Sonnet about this, they confirmed that there was an incompatibility with the BG3-300-512 card, discovered just as it was about to be released. As it only affected the 4400, they decided to release it anyway. There will be a new B4G3 card that replaces the current card for the 4400. If you have this card for a 4400, contact the vendor where you purchased it (if it is within 30 days) or Sonnet directly (949-261-1426) to get a replacement. Sonnet expects the new card to be shipping by next week.
