Today Crave had a chat with John Barton, UK sales and marketing director for LG mobile phones. Luckily for us, he didn't come empty handed -- he brought along some different-coloured versions of the original Chocolate phone, and he showed us the Korean version of the new Chocolate phone, expected here later this year.

The pink and white versions of the Chocolate phone (pictured left) are identical on the inside to the original black handset, but feature a new paint job. This isn't just a half-hearted respray, though -- every section of the new versions is either pink or white. According to John, the white version will be available from 11 August at Carphone Warehouse, and the pink one will launch in October. He also said the original Chocolate phone will soon be available on pay as you go for £150.

Apparently LG has sold over two million Chocolate phones outside of Korea this year alone, which makes it obvious why it's launching another one. The second Chocolate phone (pictured right) will launch in November this year. We were relieved when we found out that the UK version will not feature the tacky squiggly writing on the front (see picture), and we were equally pleased to hear that it will come with a 2-megapixel camera, 256MB internal memory and an expandable memory slot that will support up to 1GB. LG has not yet revealed whether it will ship the gold or silver version to the UK, but we sincerely hope it's the silver one.

John also let it slip that next year LG plans to launch a new Chocolate phone with even more exciting features. We'll let you know when we hear more. - AL
