In light of the high-profile issues surrounding SimCity's always-on internet connection, EA was quick to emphasise that Sims 4 would not have the same requirements.

The Sims 4 celebrates the heart and soul of the Sims themselves, giving players a deeper connection with the most expressive, surprising and charming Sims ever in this single-player offline experience.

The Sims 4, which will be available on Mac and PC, has yet to be rated by the Classification Board and no firm date for launch during 2014 currently exists.
