Silverlining, FireWire PowerBooks, and more on Target Disk Mode

Extending what was noted by Apple in the item above, a reader was unable to get TDM to work with this new FireWire PowerBook 500 formatted with Silverlining Pro 6.1. LaCie Support confirmed that simply updating the host computer with the 2.3 FireWire extensions may not be sufficient. They also recommended not using Silverlining at all with the new PowerBook's internal drive: "At the present time, FireWire Target Mode is limited. There are also many other issues with V2.3 related to DV video. We've done no testing of 6.1 on the new PowerBooks; there is a new Power Manager on these new machines which is not compatible with Silverlining. We recommend you stay with Apple's Drive Setup for the internal drive on the new PowerBooks."
