Five major record companies have granted Tunes.com permission to post samples of their songs on the Web. The record companies include Warner, PolyGram, EMI-Capitol, and MCA. The Berkeley, California-based Tunes.com said it initially will post 200,000 samples by mid-1997 as part of its plans to sell recorded music over the Internet, as reported by Bloomberg.
