Short Take: W3C to consider Web talk spec
The VoiceXML forum submitted a draft specification to the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) for a voice interface to the Web based on Extensible Markup Language (XML). The forum, a part of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers' (IEEE) Industry Standards and Technology Organization (IEEE-ISTO), includes AT&T, Motorola, IBM and Lucent Technologies. The W3C's Voice Browser Working Group will base a dialog markup language on VoiceXML 1.0, according to the forum.
