Short Take: Tavolo cuts staff

Tavolo, an online gourmet food and cookware store, said it has reduced its staff for the second time in three months. Chief executive Kevin Appelbaum said that between the two rounds of layoffs, Tavolo has cut its work force in half. Appelbaum said Tavolo has enough money to last a year. The cuts were made to help prepare for what the company expects could be a prolonged market slump.
