Shiva announced two new management software applications intended to make it easier for corporations to combine dial and virtual private network resources. The Shiva Access Manager 4.0 for Windows and an accompanying update to the company's Shiva Certificate Authority Pro allow administrators to manage users and groups from a single interface. The new software also now supports LDAP, the de facto directory access standard, and the SNMP management protocol. Both new versions are available this month.
