Kevin Harvey, a partner of venture capitalist firm Benchmark Capital, has joined the board of directors of Linux seller Red Hat, the company announced today. In addition, Walter McCormack, who was a member of the high-technology investment banking arm of Goldman Sachs, has become head of corporate development at the firm. McCormack will lead mergers, acquisitions, investment deals, and partnerships. Harvey has backed open-source efforts including Red Hat and Collab.Net.
