Diamond Multimedia Systems released Fire BL 1000, a graphics acclerator card that uses 3Dlabs' Permedia NT processor. Designed for professional applications such as CAD packages, VRML-based Web browsers, game-authoring environments, and multimedia-authoring applications, the accellerator comes with either 4 or 8MB SGRAM and is priced starting at about $400.
