Short Take: CraigsList files for arbitration in community dispute

Craig Newmark's grassroots San Francisco community Web site, CraigsList.org, formerly ListFoundation.org, has filed a demand for arbitration against Nancy Melone and Metrovox.com, the community site she runs out of Orinda, California. Under a tentative August agreement, Metrovox began using ListFoundation's URLs for its own site, but Newmark claimed Metrovox was misrepresenting itself as CraigsList, causing consumer confusion. CraigsList has charged Melone's company with breach of contract, trademark infringement, and unfair competition.
