Short Take: Comsat under contract for South African Net access

Comsat, an international satellite communications company, has signed a five-year contract with a South African ISP to provide Internet backbone connectivity. Terms of the deal with Satellite Data Networks were not disclosed. Comsat will provide a dedicated connection with speeds up 45 Mbps to the Internet service provider, which will divide that access among dial-up users in Cape Town, Durban, and Johannesburg, South Africa's three largest cities.
