Short Take: Boy Scouts hit the track
Power Computing will supply the Boy Scouts of America with an automated racing track for the Scouts' 45th annual Pinewood Derby in Austin, Texas. The Derby is a series of races in which scouts make cars out of a block of wood, wheels, and axels. A 30-foot, inclined track will be automated with sensors connected to a Power Computing Mac OS system that will monitor, time, and record the races. The computer will start all cars simultaneously and determine exact finish times. Results will be posted on the Web.
