Short Take: AOL has more weight on S&P

America Online comprises a larger chunk of the Standard & Poor's 500 Index following its $10 billion acquisition of Netscape Communications. Elliott Shurgin, vice president of operations for S&P, said AOL stock will represent 1.04 percent of the S&P 500, an index that weights components according to relative market capitalizations, up from its previous 0.94 percent.
