Sharp is upping the ante in the 10.1-inch Windows 8.1 tablet space with a WQXGA tablet packing 4GB of memory and LTE connectivity.
That's just shy of 300 pixels per inch and tops the 9.7-inch iPad Air's 264.
The Meibus Pad was introduced back in September at Japan-based CEATEC, but Sharp formally announced the product Wednesday for the Japanese market.
Others specs include an Intel Atom Z3770 "Bay Trail" processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of flash storage, Windows 8.1, and Windows 8.1 Office Home and Business 2013.
It is 9.5mm (0.37-inches) thick and weighs 595 grams (1.3 pounds).
The tablet will go on sale in January. No pricing was given.
