Shaq takes a shot at online crime

In his downtime, Shaquille O'Neal, the 7-foot-1, 325-pound center for the Miami Heat, often logs on to the Internet, learning the ropes as an undercover cop tracking down online child predators, according to a news report.

O'Neal, the Associated Press reported this week, was recently sworn in as a U.S. deputy marshal and is only a few training sessions away from being certified to make arrests, conducting search warrants and carrying a weapon.

In Los Angeles O'Neal went through the police academy and was a reserve officer with the L.A. Port Police. After being traded to Miami last year, he contacted the Miami Beach police, according to the AP report.
