SETI@home: more work-arounds suggested

Last time, we mentioned using Auto-Launch as a work-around for the PPP connection conflict with the screen saver of SETI@home. Another similar solution is to use MacDim, a freeware screen saver/dimmer. David Kornhauser writes: "Not only does it allow you to run SETI@home (or anything else, for that matter) as a module and without any file type modifications (!), but it also has unsurpassed timing, dimming, and any other control you could possibly want in a screen saver."

Meanwhile, Richard Peters found that turning on virtual memory solved his problem with the SETI application: "My machine now runs through the analysis just fine."
