Microsoft today released some new Gears of War 4 campaign footage and revealed the Xbox One and PC shooter's next multiplayer map.

The campaign gameplay, which was captured on Xbox One, shows main characters JD, Del, and Kait, as well as Marcus Fenix, battling against the Swarm -- and a storm. "With their village destroyed and Kait's mom abducted, the squad gives chase through the wilds of Sera and must battle through an incredible storm," reads a line from the description. Watch the nearly seven minutes of new footage below.

This demo is playable at the Xbox booth at San Diego Comic-Con this week; it's the first time the public will be able to go hands-on with the game.

As for the new Gears of War 4 multiplayer map, this is called Forge. As you can see in the fly-through video below, it is a sprawling arena with some close-quarter areas as well as more open spaces with longer lines of sight. Comic-Con attendees can play Versus matches on this map.

Additionally, Microsoft released a third new video, this one focused on the recently announced 2 TB Gears of War 4 Xbox One. You can watch the video here and get all the details on the $450 console here.

Microsoft is also hosting a Gears of War 4 panel at Comic-Con on July 2 titled "Gears of War 4: Creators, Characters, and Cast." As the name suggests, panelists include The Coalition boss Rod Fergusson, as well as voice actors Liam McIntyre (JD Fenix), Eugene Byrd (Del Walker), Laura Bailey (Kait Diaz), and John DiMaggio (Marcus Fenix). Microsoft's Major Nelson will moderate the panel, and some special announcements and surprises are expected to be divulged.

Gears of War 4 is an Xbox Play Anywhere title, meaning you can buy it (digitally) on Xbox One and get the Windows 10 PC version free or vice versa. The game launches on October 11.
