Security Update 2005-003: 1.1 Server update not available until 1.0 is installed

Last week we covered a number of issues related to Apple's 2005-003 Security Update, which was pulled and later re-posted as version 1.1 for Mac OS X Server.

MacFixIt reader Dave Dixon reports that in his case, the 1.1 updater was not immediately capable of installation -- he had to install the 1.0 release first.

Dave writes:

"I was away last week when the initial update was released and so did not update my machines. After seeing your article and the update (1.1) I downloaded the 32MB update and proceeded to install. One would assume that the 1.1 update would include the original, but it does not seem so! When I tried to install the package it gives an error saying "this volume does not meet the requirements for the update". So then I tried the Software Update - it picks up the version 1.0 of the update! I assume from this that I have to install version 1.0 before I can install the 1.1 update."
