Samsung Nexus Prime UK support page confirms release

A support page has been found on Samsung's UK website for the upcoming Nexus Prime, strongly suggesting that Samsung is preparing for its release in this country. The almost-empty page, likely a dummy or placeholder, bears the name GT-I9250.

If that sounds familiar, it's because the emergence of this support page comes only a day after the discovery of the Nexus Prime's user agent profile. Among other things, that document confirmed the Nexus Prime's model number is GT-I9250.

The fact that this support page is on Samsung's UK website should mean the Nexus Prime will get a UK release, but beyond this, it doesn't give us any new information about the phone. While it does link to various FAQs and how-to guides, they're all guides for other handsets, such as the Omnia 7 and the Galaxy S2.

Despite a flurry of leaks, the only thing we know for sure about the Nexus Prime is that it will be the first phone to run Android 4.0, codenamed Ice Cream Sandwich. Reports about all other aspects of the phone have been conflicting. The long time rumours have been that it will feature a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED screen with 720p resolution, and one of Samsung's dual-core processors. But if we are to believe the leaked user agent profile, the screen will be 480x800 pixels.

Further information obtained by GSMArena suggests the screen will indeed be of HD resolution, but it will be 4.65 inches instead of 4.5 inches, and it will be curved, like the Nexus S. We can't be sure how credible their tipster is, so this information is still firmly a rumour. Oddly, the anonymous source also reckons it'll be renamed the Samsung Galaxy Nexus before it goes on sale.

The current rumours point towards an October release of both Ice Cream Sandwich and the Nexus Prime, so you shouldn't have to wait that long to get your hands on Google's next flagship.
