After delaying its original CTIA press conference, Samsung and Google have rescheduled their Ice Cream Sandwich event for October 18 in Hong Kong.

Festivities will kick off at 7 p.m. PT/10 p.m. ET, and it will be live-streamed on Android's YouTube channel. At that time, we expect to hear more about the next version of Android and hopefully see the official debut of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus (aka Nexus Prime).

The oft-rumored smartphone is expected to offer a stock Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich user experience and be a Verizon exclusive, with 4G LTE capabilities. Samsung has also teased its curved glass screen, and the handset is said feature a TI OMAP 4460 dual-core 1.2GHz processor, 1GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, and a 5-megapixel camera capable of 1080HD video recording.

October 18 is shaping up to be a busy day. In addition to the Google, Samsung event, Motorola and Verizon will also be holding a press conference earlier in the day where the companies are expected to reveal the Droid Razr. We'll be here covering it all, so keep it tuned in to CNET next Tuesday for all the latest details.
