Feast your eyes, tablet fans, on what's reported to be an early look at the rumoured forthcoming Samsung Galaxy Tab 8-inch. Yes folks, just what the world needs: another 8-inch tablet!

The new Tab will follow the Galaxy Tab 2 7-inch and Galaxy Tab 2 10.1-inch, splitting the difference on size. The difference between the 8-inch Tab and the 8-inch Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is a mystery for the ages, especially as they're likely to share the same software.

SamMobile shows off a leaked photo and alleged specs of the rumoured tablet. The Tab 3 purportedly sports an 8-inch screen with a resolution of 1,280x800 pixels. It appears to have a thinner bezel than previous models to keep the overall size down, with the case measuring 6.95mm thick.

Inside is set to be a 1.5GHz dual-core processor with 1.5GB of RAM doing the brainwork, and 16GB of memory for storing your photos, films, music and apps. It's reported to run Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, the latest version of Google's software.

The main camera is a 5-megapixel job on the back, with a 1.3-megapixel camera on the front for video calling. Everything's powered by a respectable 4,450 mAh battery.
