Samsung's marvellous, Android-toting Galaxy S 2 is more popular than Apple's iPhone 4 for the second month running, according to sales rankings from price comparonistas uSwitch.

The ranking, which also draws on sales and popularity stats from Omio's mobile comparison site, puts Samsung's device ahead of the iPhone 4, HTC Sensation, HTC Desire and BlackBerry Curve 8520 for the month of June.

We're not too surprised -- we were blown away by the Galaxy S 2, with its eye-melting, 4.3-inch display, 8-megapixel camera, incredible 1.2GHz speed, and casing that's so light we suspect Samsung's injected each device with a dose of helium.

While a popularity boost is good news for Samsung, it's not exactly poor news for Apple. The iPhone 4 might not be top of the list, but it's still impressively popular for a smart phone that's over a year old -- the Galaxy S 2 is just a baby by comparison. It's also worth bearing in mind that in a few short months we'll doubtless be cradling the iPhone 5, which could keep Apple on top of the pile for another year.

The HTC Sensation is also piquing the nation's interest, up four places from last month. In fact, the list is rather reassuring in general -- we don't see any lemons lurking in the bestsellers chart.

Because the chart monitors both sales and online interest, this doesn't mean the Galaxy S 2 is selling more units than Apple's phone. Take the results with a pinch of salt, but they certainly make for intriguing reading. We'll keep our eye on the chart next month, to see how the imminent iPhone 5 affects the popularity of both the iPhone 4 and the Galaxy S 2.
