Samsung will launch some new Galaxy and Ativ devices on 20 June at an event in London, the company confirmed in an email invite today.

It's not giving out details of what'll be on show, but it's calling the event Samsung Premiere 2013, so I think it's safe to say we'll see some hitherto unannounced products. Galaxy S4 mini, anyone?

Of course the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active leaked recently too, so that could well make its debut at the event. It's a more rugged version of the S4, with a waterproof and dustproof casing, and actual physical buttons, rather than the usual on-screen efforts. Should come in handy if you're wearing gloves.

The S4 Active's specs are exactly the same as the sterling S4, except that the camera has come down from 13 megapixels to 8, which isn't all that much of a sacrifice to be honest.

We could also see a new Galaxy Mega break cover. Or maybe Samsung will hit us with another tablet, maybe the Galaxy Tab 3 8.0, to join the already announced 7.0. Seriously, I'm losing track of all these models of tablet.

So what new Ativ products could we see come 20 June? Ativ is the name Samsung gives to its smart devices that run Microsoft's Windows Phone operating system, so at least one new Windows Phone 8 blower is a dead cert. Samsung has failed to make much impact with its Windows blowers so far, especially compared to its dominance of Android.

Samsung is also backing the Tizen OS, with a high-end smart phone rumoured for late summer, though I don't expect we'll see any Tizen products announced on 20 June.

Samsung has hired Earls Court 2 for the event, which is a huge venue, so it obviously has something big planned. What are you hoping for? Let me know in the comments, or on our Facebook page.
