Samsung G400, L310, L320, L770, L170, J150, J700 and E251
The sleek Samsung G400 joins us from Mobile World Congress with the E251, L310, L320, L170, and entry-level J150 and J700
There's new phones flying at us from all angles at Mobile World Congress, and Samsung has added to the line-up with a range of handsets aimed at both the chic and the cheap. The G400 joins the E251 alongside the ladylike L310, L320 and L170, plus there's the no-frills J150 and J700.
First up in this smorgasbord of Samsungs is the all-metal, all-folding G400, with a tagline of 'Dual Touch Chic'. This refers to the two touchscreens that control this phone. The inner QVGA screen displays up to 262,000 colours on its 56mm (2.2-inch) face, while the outer screen controls the music player, so you don't have to flip it open for changing tracks.
Other features include a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus, an FM radio, 100MB of storage and a microSD memory option. Click through to meet some of Samsung's more basic options, as well as the range for girls -- and yes, they do have flowers on them. -Rich Trenholm
The Samsung L310, pictured, is clearly for girls, because it has flowers on. It also features such womanly fripperies as a period calendar, calorie counter, shopping list and 46mm (1.8-inch) screen. It's part of the La'Fleur 2 collection and comes in blingtastic gold, black and chocolate brown.
The Samsung L320 is a follow-up to the popular E570 (Aqua). The Samsung L770 has a 53mm (2.1-inch) screen, while you get what you pay for on the screen front with the highly affordable L170 and its 40mm (1.6-inch) display.
All these phones pack a 2-megapixel camera, FM radio, music player and microSD card expandability.
The Samsung J150 is priced at dirt cheap. Despite its metal frame, this entry-level candy bar is only 9.9mm deep. The screen measures 48mm (1.9-inch) and displays 176x220 pixels.
The J700, pictured, sports a 50mm (2-inch) display and sleek black styling. Both phones pack a music player and FM radio for the tunes, 1.3-megapixel camera for the photos, and microSD memory card slot for the remembering.
The Samsung E251, with its FM radio, memory expansion slot and VGA camera is essentially a Samsung E250 with a dedicated music key bolted on.
