Samsung denies interest in HP's PC division

Samsung addresses the rumors surrounding its interest in HP's PC business

ZDNet's Mary Jo Foley and others reported yesterday that Samsung has officially denied that it intends to buy HP's Personal Systems Group. HP announced last week that it was considering "strategic alternatives" for its PC division. Rumors then picked up naming Samsung an interested party.

As ZDNet reported, an unnamed Samsung official wrote on a Samsung blog: "The recent rumors that Samsung Electronics will be taking over Hewlett-Packard Co.'s personal computer business are not true. We hope this clarifies any confusion that may have occurred."
