Safari Developer Preview 1.3 v146: Early notes

CNET staff

A MacFixIt reader has some early impressions of the developer preview of Safari 1.3 v146, which will presumably be included with Mac OS X 10.3.5 when it is released (Mac OS X 10.4 will include Safari 2.0), and will also be available as a standalone application.

"While the developer preview has been great and works much better than the current release version its installation has caused other problems. Since installing I have lost the ability to click on a mailbox icon in Mail.app's slide out panel. I have to switch mailboxes via the menus. I lost the function the same day I installed the beta release. It may be the new version of webkit it installs.

"Also anyone hoping for working 'maps in motion' on the weather.com site should still keep hoping. They still don't work under this beta release.

Note that this release of Safari, and information contained in this article, is meant solely for the use of developers who have access to the seeded version.
