Here we go again. New rumors bubbling up this week point to HTC launching a 5.2-inch Quad HD version of the HTC One M9 . According to Twitter source @upleaks, the so-called One M9+ may debut in late March or early in the second quarter.

In addition to the larger, higher-resolution screen, the phone is also alleged to include a fingerprint scanner and an octa-core processor. The rumors suggest that the US version will include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, while other markets (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) could see a MediaTek MT6795 chipset.

HTC declined to comment, noting that it doesn't comment on rumors or speculation.

Sound familiar?

The last few months have given way to plenty of details that both corroborate and conflict with this latest batch of rumors. Code names and models thrown about thus far include the Hima Ace, Hima Ultra, Hima Ace Plus, Desire A55, and HTC One M9 Plus. Oh, by the way, there are rumors of a 5.5-inch One E9 making the rounds as well.

Any new phone would have to keep pace with Android 5.0 Lollipop, HTC Sense 7 and BoomSound. As for the hardware, well, anything goes at this stage. Will it be a 5.2-inch Quad HD display or a 5.5-inch 2K display? Will the camera makeup consist of megapixels or UltraPixels? Considering the sheer volume of conflicting details around the One M9+, it's hard to say for certain what HTC is cooking up.

Coincidentally, HTC has a live stream press event scheduled for today; however we should not look for anything on this new model. From the sounds of it, the conference will center around the Uh Oh Protection program, with perhaps a little more light to shed on the release date of the HTC One M9.
