Rounding up HP's new laptops

HP has a solid line of laptops to show off at CES, and here is our handy guide to the new systems.

LAS VEGAS-As always, HP has a solid line of new laptops to show off at CES. We've reported on each one individually, but below is a handy guide to finding the new systems. Our favorite at the moment is probably the Pavilion dm1, an 11-inch laptop with AMD's new Fusion processor/graphics combo.

Continuing the march toward 11.6-inch laptops, HP is making the new Pavilion dm1 its CES 2011 showpiece. At slightly less than 1 inch thick and 3.5 pounds, the dm1 is one of the first laptops to use AMD's new Fusion platform, which is powered by AMD's new "APU," an accelerated processing unit.

>> HP Mini 210 Netbooks get a visual upgrade
HP's popular line of Mini 210 Netbooks is expanding, at least visually. Two new plaid designs are joining the collection, named iceberry and raspberry. Existing colors include charcoal, lavender frost, luminous rose, and ocean drive.

>> HP Pavilion dv6 and dv7 join the Intel upgrade bandwagon
Even more HP laptops are joining the march to Intel's second-generation Core i-series processors. The Pavilion dv6 and Pavilion dv7 are getting the upgrade, and sticking with AMD Radeon graphics.

The Envy 17 is also moving to Intel's second generation on Core i-series processors, but continuing to couple them with AMD graphics, namely the AMD Mobility Radeon HD 6850M.
