Retrospect 6.0 crashing on older backup sets?

A MacFixIt reader reports problems using Retrspect 6.0 with older backup sets (those created by version 4.0 and 5.0 of the application):

"If you are having to read previous version 4 and 5 backup sets with a large amount of data tapes in the archive, Restrospect is unable to read those tapes and reports an out of memory error. Dantz are aware of the problem but have no intention of developing a solution, according to European technical support. Basically if you upgrade to 10.3 Panther you are in severe danger of not being able to access any previous backup data from v4 and 5 of Retrospect."
