Online ad sales set record, hitting $4.9 billion in the first quarter of 2007.

Internet advertising revenue reached a record $4.9 billion in the first quarter of this year, up 26 percent from a year earlier and up 2 percent from the previous quarter. That's according to a report commissioned by the Interactive Advertising Bureau and conducted by PricewaterhouseCoopers. Online ad sales have been rising steadily since a slump in mid-2002.
