Repeated requests to reinstall iTools blocks access for some

A posting in the MacFixIt Forums complains: "Whenever I try to use my iTools account, Apple wants me to reinstall the installer." This is a new problem that appears to have only surfaced in the past few weeks. Reader John Engels points us to similar reports in a thread on Apple's Discussion Board, where readers complain of not being able to access their iTools home page because of an endless loop request to reinstall iTools. Suggested work-around involve making sure cookies are enabled and that the cookie file not corrupt. However, these work-arounds do not appear to be the cure. A reply from Apple stated: We are aware that you have been having difficulty installing iTools using Internet Explorer. This issue consists of running the iTools installer and being sent back to the signup page for iTools. To access iTools using Microsoft Internet Explorer please follow these steps in the this order: Set Internet Explorer in the Internet Control Panel as the default internet browser. Close all applications other than Internet Explorer. Empty Internet Explorer's cache in its preferences section, close and relaunch the application. Download a new installer from the Free Sign Up link on the iTools sign up page. Run the new installer. However, subsequent replies stated that this did not work and that the problem extended to Navigator. Note: When we tried, we did not have this problem. Update: Tony Martin offers this suggested solution: "Give the iTools Install triple its suggested memory. Run the Installer again. It should work fine."
