Random freezes in Internet Explorer: Microsoft offers a potential solution

Regarding our previous mention of freezes associated with Internet Explorer, especially when clicking a link, Michael Reid spotted a reply in an Microsoft newsgroup from Jimmy Grewal (Microsoft's Program Manager for Explorer 5): Move your Internet Preferences file (System Folder -> Preferences) to the desktop and see if that helps. If it doesn't, return it to the Preferences folder. In other words, trashing this file may help eliminate the crashes. However, if you do this, you will have to recreate the settings in your Internet control panel.
