Raise your goblet of rock Aussie air guitar heads. Guitar Hero, the hugely popular guitar simulation game, is set to land in Australia for the PS2 this winter.

Activision has confirmed that Guitar Hero, which has sold more than 200,000 units in the US so far, is headed Down Under. The rhythm game is packaged with a guitar shaped peripheral for authentic rock styling.

Guitar Hero's brilliant replica guitar - based on the classic Gibson SG - enables gamers to play along to 30 fully licensed classic rock tunes - plus an additional 17 bonus unlockable tracks - as they journey from rock star wannabe to stadium guitar gods. Gibson Guitar's involvement doesn't end there - additional digital versions of the manufacturer's most recognisable guitars can be unlocked in-game, offering virtual rockstars the chance to experience the thrill of playing with rock's most prominent guitars.
