In a recent speech at the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, Attorney General Alberto Gonzales noted how the Net has helped pedophiles find community.

"The Internet has become more than just an expanding supply of images for pedophiles to gratify their urges," he said. "Offenders can bond with each other, and the Internet acts as a tool for legitimizing and validating their behavior in their minds. It emboldens them."
