QuickTime 7.1.2 (#3): Resolves issue with shared media in Front Row/iTunes; Cleaner issues

CNET staff

Resolves issue with shared media in Front Row/iTunes We previously noted an issue where Front Row is unable to playback shared video and audio, as well as a workaround that involves re-encoding the problematic audio/video with QuickTime Pro.

We've now received reports that this issue is fixed for some users under QuickTime 7.1.2.

MacFixIt reader Ken writes:

"The QuickTime 7.1.2 update fixed the problem for me - videos without the streaming option set can now once again be shared via either iTunes or Front Row."

Cleaner issues Some users are reporting problems using AutoDesk's Cleaner 6.5 after applying the QuickTime 7.1.2 update.

One reader writes:

"After installing QuickTime 7.12 on my PowerMac G4, Cleaner 6.5 fails to start, reporting 'unable to load framework bundle' while it was scanning for Quicktime Export components. This error appears twice, sometimes 3 times, before the usual Unexpectedly Quit message that appears after quitting Cleaner."
