No sound after update -- fix If you are having issues with sound not playing in QuickTime content after the update to QuickTime 7.1.1, try launching then quitting GarageBand, or launching then quitting the "Audio MIDI Setup" application located in Applications/Utilities.

Cleaner issues -- reminder of how to revert to an earlier version of QuickTime We continue to report on report persistent problems with Autodesk's Cleaner that were spawned by QuickTime 7.1 and remain unresolved in version 7.1.1.

One MacFixIt reader writes:

"Cleaner won't batch process anything. I only yesterday upgraded to Cleaner 6.5 only to discover the problem is with QuickTime 7.1. I'm having a heck of a time getting back to an earlier version of QuickTime so I can batch process. I am near desperation as I have to baby-sit Cleaner for several hundred files."

Unfortunately, the only way to work around these issues we currently know of involves reverting to an earlier version of QuickTime as described in this article.

Entourage crashes We previously noted an issue where Entourage crashes when selecting font colors or sizes with QuickTime 7.1 or 7.1.1 installed. This issue can sometimes be resolved by deleting the file com.microsoft.broweserfont.cache located in ~/Library/Caches.
