Problems with Ac3-encoded audio linger One MacFixIt reader reports that QuickTime 7.0.3, like its predecessors, exhibits issues with playing DVDs that have Ac3-encoded audio.

One reader writs: "Quicktime 7.0.3 still does not fix the issue of playing Divx encoded movies. Also, just like 7.0.2, it crashes the application when trying to play DVD rips whose sound has been encoded with Ac3."

Some third-party applications exhibiting problems MacFixIt reader Stephen Bennet reports an issue with one third-party application's QuickTime VR functionality after the update.

Stephen writes:

"I noticed after upgrading to the latest version of QuickTime 7.0.3, and iTunes 6, that Illumina, a bible multimedia program now fails to properly load Quicktime VR movies embedded/referenced from within the program. These files can be accessed separately with QuickTime, I might add, but they open up to a black screen, both from within Illumina and from QuickTime."
