QuickTime 6: What's fixed; What's not

CNET staff
Regarding the just released QuickTime 6 Public Preview (as noted yesterday):

Full-screen playback fixed! Andrew Dunning reports that the previously reported problem - where QuickTime movies (especially those that used the Sorenson 3 codec) were choppy when played back in Full Screen mode in OS X (but not OS 9) - has been fixed in QuickTime 6. [Note: An item in the OS X article above suggests that installing OS X 10.1.5 may actually be the fix here.]

MIDI fix Andrew also noticed another fix in QuickTime 6. He writes: "In QuickTime 5.0.2, the MIDI support was broken for Mac OS 9 programs, when run in the Classic Environment (this mainly affected music notation programs that haven't been Carbonized yet, like Finale). QuickTime 6 fixes this."

QuickTime in PowerPoint problem? Geert Van Kerckhove found that after upgrading to both QuickTime 6 and Office v. X SR1, QuickTime transitions in PowerPoint no longer work. Update:Jim Isaac confirms this.

QuickTime and AIM Mike Vande Ven Jr. suspects there is a conflict between QuickTime 6 and AIM for OS X that prevents the display from going to sleep at its automatic setting time. Update: A couple of readers now confirm this.
